The Inland Revenue Department confirmed that the casino entrance levy rose from US$50 to US$100 on 1 January 2026. The notice says it applies to Sri Lanka’s own citizens: operators must collect US$100, or the equivalent in another convertible currency or in rupees, from a citizen who enters.

The gross collection levy on betting and gaming rose from 15% to 18% on operators with monthly gross revenue above Rs. 1 million. The increases were proposed in May 2025 and passed in December, amending the Betting and Gaming Levy Act, according to iGaming Business.

The notice does not set a fee for foreign visitors. Venue-level fees for visitors are not yet confirmed; see the entry fee guide.
